What the One-Time Fire Ant Service Includes
Outdoors
Treating the mounds. The technician pushes a probe as deep into each active mound as it will go and applies a liquid treatment until the nest is full, so it reaches the chambers where the queen and brood are kept.
Baiting. Granular bait goes down on dry soil around the nests and across the nearby area. Workers gather it as food and pass it through the colony, which cuts into the queen’s egg laying and reaches small colonies that have not raised a visible mound yet.
Closing entry points. If ants are already trailing inside, the technician seals the small openings they are using, such as cracks in stucco or block, gaps in drywall, and spaces around door and window frames.
Indoors
Vacuuming. Any ants found inside are removed with a HEPA-filter vacuum.
Breaking the trail. Fire ants find their way by scent. Wiping their paths with rubbing alcohol or a disinfectant on a paper towel removes the trail so new ants cannot pick it up.
Hidden travel routes. When ants show up on an upper floor, a fine dust is puffed into electrical outlets and along the gap at the bottom of baseboards, where they move out of sight.
This is a single visit. For ongoing coverage, ask about All Seasons Protection, our quarterly plan, which includes free re-treatment if pests come back between scheduled visits. Call Florida Bug Control at 1-855-624-2847.
