Pest Control for Manufacturing Facilities & Factories
A manufacturing plant has more ways for pests to get in than most buildings. Bay doors stay open all shift, raw materials arrive by the truckload, and some lines never stop. Heat from equipment and water from wash-downs give Florida pests the warmth and moisture they look for.
Many plants also answer to customers, auditors or regulators who want to see a working pest program. Florida Bug Control sets up service around your layout, your shifts and the records you keep. Read more about our commercial services.
Common Problems in Plants
What we find depends on what you make, but these come up often in Florida facilities:
- Rodents nesting in pallet stacks, wall voids and drop ceilings, and chewing wiring and packaging.
- German cockroaches in break rooms, locker rooms and warm motor housings. American cockroaches coming up from floor drains and sewer lines.
- Drain flies and phorid flies breeding in the buildup inside floor drains and under equipment.
- Beetles and moths in raw ingredients, packaging stock or finished goods.
- Ants trailing in from landscaping, especially after summer storms.
If you process food or drinks, our food and beverage manufacturing page covers the extra steps those plants need.
Inspection and Scope of Service
The free inspection starts with a conversation. We ask what you produce, which audits or customer standards apply, which areas are restricted, and when lines are down. Then we walk the plant inside and out: receiving, production, storage, maintenance shops, break areas, drains, the roof line and the grounds. The result is a written scope of service that spells out which areas get treated, where monitoring devices go and how often we visit.
Service Visits and Records
We follow an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach. That means checking monitors, finding where pests come from, recommending repairs or sanitation changes, and treating in a targeted way around production areas. Visits are timed around your shifts. After each visit, the technician tells your designated contact what was found, what was treated and which conditions need attention, so you have notes to keep with your audit file. Product labels and safety data sheets are available on request, as explained on our labels and SDS page. If pests come back between scheduled visits, we return and re-treat at no charge. There is no long-term contract.
