Rats and mice chew wiring, spoil stock and leave droppings that can fail a health inspection. In Florida, roof rats are the most common problem. They climb trees, utility lines and walls, then get in at the roofline. Norway rats burrow along foundations, and house mice can squeeze through a gap about 1/4 inch wide.
Trapping alone rarely lasts. New rodents keep moving in until the openings are closed.
Trapping and exclusion
For most businesses, this is where we start. Your technician finds how rodents are getting in and seals those openings. Common spots are gaps around pipes and conduit, roof vents, soffits, door bottoms and loading dock doors. Then we set traps inside to remove the rodents already there, and come back to check and reset them until the activity stops. Read more about trapping and exclusion.
Exterior baiting and monitoring
Bait stations around the outside of the building catch rodents before they get in. This works as prevention for sites near woods, canals, restaurants or trash areas, and as follow-up after exclusion work. Stations are checked on each scheduled visit. See our exterior baiting program.
Why traps alone fall short
Setting traps without sealing entry points may catch a few rodents, but new ones keep finding the same way in. That is why we recommend pairing trapping with exclusion and outside monitoring. Rodents can also bring fleas and mites with them, so we check for those too.
How service works
Every job starts with a free inspection, inside and out, covering the roofline, attic or drop ceiling, storage rooms and dumpster area. We follow an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach: remove food and shelter, close entry points, then trap or bait where needed. We also point out storage and trash habits that feed rodents. After each visit, your designated contact hears what was found and treated. There are no long-term contracts, and if rodents come back between scheduled visits, we come back and re-treat at no charge.
