How to Prevent Brown Dog Tick Infestations

Ticks are parasitic arachnids and need blood meals from canines to survive. The most common ticks that most home owners are going to have contact with are Brown Dog ticks because they are more associated with dogs at home and can be readily picked up from other dogs, neighbors that have ticks, the dog park, boarding kennels, etc. Brown Dog ticks can breed and survive in a home setting if they have access to a canine for blood meals and can even survive for months without contact with a dog.
