- Let houseplant soil dry out between waterings and do not let water sit in saucers
- Scrub drains with a brush and use an enzyme drain cleaner
- Keep produce in the refrigerator and take out trash and recycling often
- Use fine mesh screens on patios if no-see-ums are a problem outdoors
